Who is Amit Kataria?
Amit Kataria is a senior IAS officer of the 2004 batch Chhattisgarh cadre. he/she was born in Gurugram, Haryana. he/she gave Delhi Public School, R.K. Completed his/her schooling from Puram. Subsequently, he/she did B.Tech in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Delhi. his/her education and early life prepared him/her to succeed in IAS with discipline and service values.
UPSC exam passed in the year 2003

Amit Kataria first came into the limelight when he/she secured 18th rank in the UPSC Civil Services Exam in 2003. This was the beginning of his/her magnificent career. he/she included the post of Joint Secretary in the District Collector and later in the Department of Rural Development while working in several important administrative positions. his/her leadership and foresight gave him/her considerable respect in bureaucracy.
Adventure decision to take only 1 rupee salary

One of the most unique aspect of Amit Kataria’s career is that he/she decided to take a salary of just Rs 1 during a long -term interval of his/her service. his/her decision to take just one rupee token salary attracted the media’s attention.
This decision strengthened Kataria’s belief that his/her role in IAS is to serve the country, not to deposit money. his/her decision is seen as an example of selfless dedication to the values of civil services.
