UP T20 League: The team reached the final without captain Rinku Singh

New Delhi. The excitement of the UP T20 League is at its peak. This league is in its final stage. The playoff matches have started in the tournament. Meerut Mavericks and Lucknow Falcons teams were face to face in Qualifier 1. Meerut team could not get the services of captain Rinku Singh in this match, despite this the team performed brilliantly and entered the final. Meerut Mavericks entered the title match by defeating Lucknow Falcons by 9 runs in Qualifier 1. Earlier, Meerut Mavericks won 8 out of 10 matches under Rinku’s captaincy and topped the point table with 16 points and made it to the playoffs.

In the match played on Wednesday at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow, Meerut Mavericks batted first and scored 153 runs for 4 wickets. In reply, Lucknow Falcons team collapsed for 144 runs with one ball remaining. Captain Priyam Garg scored 56 runs in 42 balls while Parv Singh scored 25 and Harsh Tyagi was dismissed after scoring 21 runs. Vijay Kumar, Yash Garg and Zeeshan Ansari took two wickets each for Meerut Mavericks.

Meerut Mavericks did not have a good start
Earlier, Meerut Mavericks did not have a good start and lost the wickets of both their openers Akshay Dubey and Swastik Chikara at the score of 14. Akshay and Chikara were hunted by international fast bowler Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Akshay Dubey was out after scoring 5 runs while Chikara returned to the pavilion after scoring 7 runs. After this, Uvesh Ahmed along with acting captain Madhav Kaushik took the innings forward. Both took the score to 57 runs. Then Madhav was out after scoring 24 runs.

Fifty for Madhav-Rituraj
After Uvesh was out, acting captain Madhav Kaushik was joined by Rituraj Sharma. Both completed their fifties. Rituraj was out after scoring 54 runs off 36 balls while Madhav scored 52 runs off 43 balls. Madhav hit 3 fours and two sixes off 43 balls while Rituraj hit 2 fours and 4 sixes in his/her half-century innings.
