UP PCS Exam 2024: UP PCS paper was difficult, claims reduced! More than half left the exam

UPPSC Prelims Question Paper 2024 Update: Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, PCS examination was held on Sunday 22 December 2024 in two shifts with tight security arrangements. There was little interest among the candidates regarding the examination. Even half the candidates did not turn up to take the exam. At the same time, the candidates who came out of the centers described the exam as difficult. Officials say that 5,76,154 candidates had applied for the PCS exam 2024 across Uttar Pradesh. But the number of those who appeared for the exam remained only 2,41,212. That means about 42 percent.

Ghaziabad, Noida, same condition everywhere

31 examination centers were made in Ghaziabad for UP PCS exam. The timing of the first shift was from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and the timing of the second shift was from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Out of 13,920 candidates registered for the first shift, only 37.07 percent i.e. 5,160 candidates took the exam. The number of absent candidates increased even more in the second shift. Out of the registered 13,920 candidates, 36.57 percent i.e. 5,090 candidates took the exam.

The examination was conducted at 18 centers in Gautam Buddha Nagar i.e. Noida. 2730 out of 7229 candidates appeared in the first shift. 2711 out of 7229 candidates appeared in the second shift. Only about 38 percent candidates appeared in both the shifts. A total of 3986 candidates were registered in Hapur. 3986 candidates were registered for the UPPSC exam. 1708 were present in the first shift, while 1696 were present in the second shift.

How was the UPPSC 2024 exam paper?

Dimple Kumari, who came after giving the exam, told that this time the paper was very difficult. Even after preparing properly for the exam, one had to struggle to answer the questions. At the same time, Khushboo said that the time of the paper was of 2 hours. But considering the type of questions asked during the examination, the time taken was less. Many other candidates also say that it seems that when the paper was prepared, it was not kept in mind that the paper has to be solved in only 2 hours. However, some candidates also described the paper as easy.

Three layer security arrangements

To make the examination free from cheating, strict arrangements were made by the police and administration at all the centres. Before entering the centre, the candidates were made to remove their shoes, jackets, earrings, bracelets and even rings. Each candidate was checked at the centers for 5 minutes each. To prevent fake candidates from appearing in the examination, retina and biometric tests were also conducted. At the same time, the kalava and thread of the candidates were cut with scissors.
