UGC Special Course: UGC brings special course, along with degree you will get many benefits, job training and money too

UGC AEDP Syllabus Details in Hindi: UGC has approved a special course so that students can gain a foothold in the job market after completing their graduation. This scheme is starting from the new session of January-February next year. In 3 or 4 year university degree course, students will get industry based training as well as financial help (stipend). UGC Chairman Professor M. Jagadish Kumar says that Apprenticeship Embedded Degree Program (AEDP) has been approved. Its objective is to prepare students for employment during their graduation. This course will not be like normal graduation courses. In this, semester training has been made mandatory.

Will get stipend from company and government

Universities ranked in the top 200 in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) can launch this course. In case of starting the course in direct partnership with the industry, the industry will give stipend to the youth. Whereas in case of registration through National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) portal, the government will give stipend.

Professor Kumar has appealed to the universities of the country to join this campaign. Along with this, universities which achieve at least one grade or 3.01 score from NAAC can also start this course.

What is special in this UGC special course?

The specialty of this UGC course is that semester training will start from the first day itself. If it is a three-year course, then students will have to undergo training in collaboration with the industry for at least one semester and maximum three semesters. If it is a four year course then there will be minimum 2 and maximum 4 semesters of training.

There will be an agreement between university-industry and students in this course. The role of the three parties will be decided from day one. Students will be required to participate in training. This course will not be only about classroom teaching, but a major part will be about skill training. An apprenticeship is a training period in which students are trained in industry. Students get practical knowledge along with classroom teaching. Along with this, one also gets the university degree necessary for career.
