UGC NET 2024: UGC NET subject list increased, new subject added, applicable from December exam

UGC NET Exam December 2024 Latest Update: Ayurveda Biology subject has also been included in the National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) examination. It has been decided in the meeting of the UGC Commission that in the UGC NET examination to be held in December 2024, students will also get the opportunity to choose Ayurveda Biology as an additional subject. Some time ago, UGC had also decided to include the subject of Disaster Management in UGC NET. UGC Chairman Professor M. Jagdish Kumar says that in the subject of Ayurveda Biology, students will get a chance to know the ancient science of Ayurveda. Students have been given the opportunity to choose this unique subject.

he/she said that as people are becoming more aware of the benefits of natural and holistic health care, they are also adopting Ayurveda as an alternative to allopathic medicine. Ayurveda is increasingly being integrated into the modern healthcare system. Ayurveda should be understood from the perspective of contemporary science.

UGC NET: Opportunities after PhD

The UGC Chairperson said, ‘Through Ayurveda Biology, you will get an opportunity to study in detail about the traditional knowledge of India. After completing PhD in Ayurveda Biology, students will also have the opportunity to do research and train other students in universities.’

This topic may be old, but the field is new. Since it has been added to the NET exam subject list for the first time, this can prove to be a great opportunity for the candidates to take a career lead.
