UGC ADP: UGC’s special program for bright students, complete your degree before the scheduled time, something like this!

UGC Degree News in Hindi: The SoP for Accelerated Degree programs (ADP) and Extended Degree Programs (EDP) has been approved in the recently held meeting of the University Grants Commission (UGC). SOP has been issued to complete three or four years of graduation in less time or to extend the duration of the course.
UGC Chairman Prof. M. Jagadish Kumar explained that the National Credit Framework (NCrF) brings flexibility in higher education, allowing students to complete graduation through Accelerated Degree Program (ADP) or Extended Degree Program (EDP) in addition to the standard duration degree. Gets approval to do so.Prof. Kumar says students can use this option to shorten or extend their study duration depending on their learning abilities. ADP allows students to complete a 3-year or 4-year degree in less time by earning additional credits per semester, while EDP allows students to complete a degree in more time with fewer credits per semester.
Under ADP and EDP, students must earn the prescribed total number of credits for a course but can add or subtract one or two semesters. Universities will have to form committees to evaluate the eligibility of students for these two new rules. Pro. Kumar has also clarified that the value of degrees obtained under ADP and EDP will be exactly the same. SOP for ADP- Students will be able to choose this option after the end of first semester or second semester, 10% of the total students will be selected.

There will be no change in the course content and conditions for obtaining total credit for UGC graduation, only students will be able to complete their course in less time by obtaining additional credit. The student will apply at the end of the first or second semester after admission to complete the course in a shorter period of time. The university will form a committee and take a decision after considering the applications of the students. Out of the total students enrolled in a course, 10% will be selected for this option.
If there are 100 students in BA course then 10 will be selected, if the applications are only 10 then all will be in the scope. If a student joins ADP after the first semester, he/she will get the opportunity to earn additional credits from the second semester. If ADP is chosen after the second semester, he/she will be able to earn additional credits from the third semester.
There are total 6 semesters in 3 years graduation and the student will get a chance to complete his/her/her course in 5 semesters. A 4 year graduation consists of 8 semesters and students will have the option to complete their degree in 6 or 7 semesters. One can complete a three year degree in two and a half years and a four year degree in three or three and a half years.

UGC approves extension of EDP- degree course up to a maximum of two semesters:

Students who wish to complete their degree in more time can extend it up to a maximum of two semesters. A three-year degree can be completed in four years and a four-year degree can be completed in five years. There will be no change in the examination and evaluation process.
