On the basis of the brilliant performance of its bowlers, England confirmed its place in the semi-finals of the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 with a six-wicket win over New Zealand on Monday.

On the basis of the brilliant performance of its bowlers, England confirmed its place in the semi-finals of the Under-19 Women’s T20 World Cup 2024 with a six-wicket win over New Zealand on Monday. England is the fourth team to reach the semi-finals. Defending champion India had secured its place in the last four on Sunday.

Tilly Courteen-Coleman took four wickets for eight runs and Prisha Thanawala took three wickets for 19 runs. With the brilliant bowling of these two, England bowled out New Zealand for 89 runs. At one time New Zealand’s score was 49 runs without any loss but after that they lost all their wickets within 40 runs. From her side, Kate Irwin scored the maximum 35 runs.

England achieved the target of 90 runs by losing four wickets in 11.4 overs. For England, opener Jemima Spence scored 29 runs and Davina Perrin scored 21 runs to ensure a big victory for her team. This victory ensured that England would finish in the first two positions in Group Two of the Super Six. Because the top two ranked teams from each group would make it to the semi-finals.

England has joined India, Australia and South Africa in the last four of the ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup. The semi-final match will also be played soon. India’s next match will be against Scotland in Super 6. The match will be played on 28 January.
