Two astronauts of Gaganyaan will go to International Space Station, mission with NASA will be completed this year

New Delhi: Indian Space Agency ISRO is busy preparing for its Gaganyaan mission. This is India’s first manned space mission. Four astronauts have been trained for the Gaganyaan mission. Two of these four astronauts have been selected to be sent to the International Space Station (ISS) later this year. This mission will be completed in collaboration with the US space agency NASA. According to sources, only one of these two astronauts will go to the space station. According to the information available on NASA’s website, this mission will start after October 2024.

Mission training will be given in America
The Indian astronauts who will go to the space station under this mission will first be given special training in America. These astronauts have already received training to go and live in space. But their training was focused on the Gaganyaan mission, so now they will also have to understand the modules of the International Space Station and the ways of living there.

Astronauts will go to space in collaboration with a private company
Let us tell you that the mission that will take the astronauts to the International Space Station is Axiom-4. This mission will be carried out jointly by the American space agency NASA and a private company Axiom Space. This is Axiom’s fourth private astronaut mission. Under this mission, the astronauts are expected to stay at the space station for about 14 days.

SpaceX will also support
While announcing the Axiom-4 mission last year, NASA had said that the crew of the Axiom-4 mission will train for this flight in collaboration with NASA, international space agencies and SpaceX. Axiom Space has signed a deal with SpaceX for the launcher to bring and take the astronauts to space. Along with this, China will train the astronauts about the spacecraft’s system, mission processes and emergency preparations.

Last year, America announced
Agencies have been working for this space mission for a long time. During PM Modi’s visit to the US last year, India and the US had said in a joint statement that NASA would provide special training to Indian astronauts. After this, NASA official Bill Nelson, who visited Delhi, had said that the US space agency would train Indian astronauts for the ISS by the end of 2024.
