Helping Turkey, the Government of India has sent a team of NDRF to carry out the rescue operation. Teams of NDRF personnel with specially trained dog squads have left for Turkey for search and rescue operations with necessary equipment.

PMO issued a statement saying that apart from NDRF, medical assistance will also be given to Turkey. For this, the team of medicine and doctors will also go from India.

Giving information, US State Department Spokes Ned Price said that two rescue and recovery teams with 78 people will leave for Turkey. We are looking at the option of additional funding resources, which are available to both the countries.

The deadly earthquakes in Turkey and Syria have killed more than 3,400 people so far, reports the Associated Press. On Monday, three consecutive devastating earthquakes of magnitude 7.8, 7.6 and 6.0 occurred in Turkey.

South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol expressed condolences to Turkey and Syria earthquake victims and offered to help Turkey.

According to Turkey’s Disaster and Emergency Management Agency, at least 5,606 buildings collapsed in Turkey during and after the earthquake. There are reports of similar devastation in northern Syria as well.
