New Delhi: Congress is cornering the government over the allegations against industrialist Gautam Adani. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi held a press conference and alleged that Prime Minister Modi is protecting Adani and is involved in crime. BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra hit back at Rahul’s statement. he/she termed Rahul Gandhi’s statement as part of a long-running effort to tarnish the image of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra, while addressing the press conference, made it clear that as far as the allegations against Adani Group are concerned, it is for the company to defend itself by issuing a clarification. Responding to Rahul’s allegations against the Prime Minister and the BJP government at the Centre, Patra said, ‘The law will take its course.’

Congress is trying to tarnish Modi’s image

The BJP leader alleged that Rahul Gandhi, his/her mother Sonia Gandhi and the Congress have been trying to malign Modi’s image since 2002, but they have not succeeded and the Prime Minister is being sent abroad on the same day the opposition party is attacking him/her. ‘Why is Congress investing in Adani’s company?’

Citing Adani Group’s investments in several states ruled by the Congress and its allies, Patra said the group had invested Rs 25,000 crore and Rs 65,000 crore in Chhattisgarh during the Bhupesh Baghel and Ashok Gehlot governments, respectively. US prosecutors have accused Adani of paying bribes of $ 250 million, or about Rs 2,100 crore, to get solar energy contracts in India. ‘Congress cannot tolerate India’s strong economy’

Patra alleged that Congress cannot afford the Indian economy to strengthen with Modi as Prime Minister. he/she said that India is now on its way to becoming the third largest global economy. he/she said that Rahul Gandhi is trying to target the Indian economy by making all kinds of allegations and on Thursday too, more than 2.5 crore investors lost a lot of their money due to the fall in the stock market.

‘Rahul does not understand legal aspects’

The BJP leader said that Rahul had also targeted the government over alleged corruption in the Rafale aircraft deal and the issue of Covid vaccines. Patra also objected to Rahul’s claim that his/her party also has to do the work of the judiciary. he/she said that this is contempt of court. he/she said that Rahul does not understand the legal and technical aspects of any issue and only repeats what some advisors say.

he/she claimed that Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul will now start a drama when the winter session of Parliament begins from November 25 and will try to disrupt the proceedings and target the economy.
