US President-elect Donald Trump has announced that Tesla, SpaceX and ‘X’ CEO Elon Musk will lead the new Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) along with Indian-origin Vivek Ramaswami.

“I am pleased to announce that the great Elon Musk will join forces with American patriot Vivek Ramaswami to lead the Department of Government Efficiency (“DOGE”),” Trump said in an official statement on Tuesday.

“Together, these two amazing Americans will lead the way for my Administration to eliminate government bureaucracy, reduce excess regulation, cut wasteful spending, and restructure federal agencies – all essential to the “Save America” movement. This will be a shock to everyone involved in the system and government waste, including many of them!” he/she added.

DOGE will partner with the White House and the Office of Management and Budget to drive large-scale structural reforms and create an entrepreneurial approach to government.

“This will, potentially, become the “Manhattan Project” of our time. Republican politicians have dreamed about the purposes of “DOGE” for a very long time.
