Kumaraswamy Targets Amit Shah: Janata Dal (Secular) leader HD Kumaraswamy on Monday hit back at Union Home Minister Amit Shah, saying his style of politics will not work in Karnataka. The former chief minister’s counterattack comes after Amit Shah’s comments against the regional party, in which he called it ‘a family’s ATM’ and claimed that voting for it would be like voting for the Congress.
Kumaraswamy ready for assembly elections
Regarding the upcoming assembly elections, Kumaraswamy said that the second list of party candidates for the elections is expected to come after Makar Sankranti. The party has already announced the first list of 93 candidates. Kumaraswamy said, “He (Shah) has said that (BJP) will not have any alliance with anyone. Who went to his door? Did we go to seek an agreement? I will win 120 seats (in the 224-member assembly). I am building my party’s base with the aim of getting more than 100,000 seats. I am working 20 hours a day. I have not gone to the doorsteps of Congress or BJP with applications.”
Amit Shah is scared of JDS?
Former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy also said that during the 2018 assembly elections, the Congress had claimed that voting for the Janata Dal (Secular) meant voting for the BJP and called his party the B-team. Kumaraswamy believes that now BJP’s Amit Shah is calling Janata Dal (Secular) the B team of Congress. Now Amit Shah is also saying that voting for Janata Dal (Secular) party will be like voting for Congress. It shows fear about Janata Dal (Secular).
‘Operation Lotus’ before elections
Kumaraswamy accused the BJP of planning to woo strong winnable candidates of other parties in constituencies where the party is weak. He said, “This is ‘Operation Lotus’ before the elections.” He said that this is Karnataka, your politics will not work here. I didn’t go to anyone’s door, both Congress and BJP came to my door demanding an alliance.”
