In many states of North India, there is a possibility of increasing cold from Sunday (January 1, 2023). Due to the continuous fall in the temperature, the problems of the people are gradually increasing. The temperature is likely to go down further in North India in the coming days.

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is a possibility of dense fog in Delhi and its surrounding areas till January 5.

How will be the weather in Delhi-NCR?

The temperature in the capital Delhi and surrounding areas has dropped to 5-6 degree Celsius. The residents of Delhi have definitely got some relief from the strong wind but the cold has increased. There is a possibility of increasing cold from Sunday i.e. January 1. Cold wave has been predicted in Delhi from 3rd to 6th January. According to the Meteorological Department, dense fog can remain during this period. In Delhi, the minimum temperature is expected to be 5 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature is expected to be 19 degree Celsius on Sunday. Apart from this, the pollution level in Delhi’s air is still in a dangerous condition.

Trouble will increase due to fog and cold wave
Cold wave is expected to start again in North West India after January 1. Dense fog is likely to remain till January 5 in nearby states like Punjab and Haryana. Along with this, further drop in temperature can also be recorded. Winter has increased in UP’s capital Lucknow and Jaipur. Dense fog has enveloped some parts of Moradabad, visibility has reduced in many areas. According to the Meteorological Department, a further drop in the maximum and minimum temperature will be recorded in these areas as well.

In many parts of Rajasthan, people have started suffering from cold. A drop of two to four degrees Celsius has been recorded in the minimum temperature. The weather may remain clear in some areas. According to the Meteorological Department, mercury dropped in many parts of the state including Jaipur, Bikaner and Bharatpur on Saturday. In these areas, the minimum temperature is expected to drop by two to three degrees Celsius in the next few days. Apart from this, there may be dense fog in the western and northern areas of the state.

How will the weather be in Mumbai?
Some parts of Maharashtra may see some effect of cold. There is a possibility of fog in the sky in Mumbai. On Sunday, the maximum temperature in Mumbai is expected to be 29 degree Celsius, while the minimum temperature is likely to be up to 20 degree Celsius. The weather will remain pleasant in Mumbai and Pune at night. At the same time, the day will be hot in these areas. At the same time, winds can blow at a speed of 8 km per hour in some parts of Madhya Pradesh.

Cold increased in Northeast India
The northeastern parts of the country are also witnessing the outbreak of cold. People are taking support of bonfire. Light rain activities can be seen in some parts of Northeast India. In many districts of Bihar and Jharkhand, problems have increased due to fog and cold. There is a possibility of fog in the cities of Ranchi, Patna with a maximum of 19 degrees and a minimum of 10 degrees in the morning. On the other hand, there has been a decrease in the temperature in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. The weather can remain pleasant here. A foggy morning in Guwahati will mark the start of routine for the people on New Year.

How is the cold in Jammu and Kashmir?
It is getting cold in most parts of Jammu and Kashmir. At the same time, there has been some relief from the bone-chilling cold in some areas and the minimum temperature has reached above the freezing point. People in Srinagar are feeling some respite from the bitter cold after the minimum temperature reached above the freezing point. The minimum temperature in Srinagar has been recorded at 0.4 degree Celsius.

According to the estimates of the Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather is likely to remain dry in parts of South India. The weather is expected to remain hot in some big cities of South India like Bangalore, Chennai and Hyderabad.
