There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with one or two heavy rains in the southern parts of Andaman and Nicobar Islands. There is a possibility of rain in these areas for the next four days.
The Meteorological Department (IMD) has expressed the possibility of rain in Tamil Nadu from 19 December. There may be heavy rains in South Tamil Nadu on 20 and 21 December.

The Regional Meteorological Office has predicted heavy rain at isolated places in Ramanathapuram, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Sivagangai, Pudukkottai, Thanjavur, Mayiladuthurai, Cuddalore, Villupuram and Chengalpattu districts of Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on December 22 as well.
Cyclonic storm caused heavy rain
There is a possibility of partly cloudy sky in many parts of Tamil Nadu. Last week also, there was heavy rain in the state due to Cyclone Mandous. Due to heavy rains on December 13, life in the Nilgiris district was thrown out of gear. Services were affected due to falling of boulders and trees on the railway track. In view of the heavy rains during that time, the district administration had declared a holiday in schools and colleges.
