Sikkim BJP Chief Resigns: BJP’s Sikkim unit chief DB Chauhan on Tuesday resigned as the party’s state president. He claimed that he was forced to take this step due to the apathy of the BJP central leadership towards the state unit.
DB Chauhan said the party’s central leadership did not listen to the state unit’s demand to join the Prem Singh Tamang government in Sikkim, while the ruling Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) itself wanted an alliance with the BJP.
Resigning after disillusionment
Speaking to the media, DB Chauhan said that I resign from the post of BJP’s Sikkim unit president after being completely disillusioned with the apathetic attitude of the central leadership towards resolving various issues affecting the functioning of the state unit of the party. I am resigning with immediate effect.

Leaders of the state unit angry with the neglect of Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah, during his visit to Sikkim two months ago, did not give even five minutes to meet the leaders of the state unit of the party. He told that this shows the attitude of the central leadership towards the state unit of the party.
Chouhan said that despite the BJP having 12 MLAs in the state, the party leadership has failed to appoint anyone as the leader of the legislature party. Chauhan has served as the state BJP president for about six years.
