India Weather Forecast: Chilly cold has started in the northern parts of the country. The mercury has dropped rapidly in many cities. Due to the snowfall on the mountains, the cold is showing its effect in the plains.
People’s problems have increased due to cold and fog in many parts including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Rainfall is also expected in some southern states. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of Punjab, northern Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh will be affected by cold wave. People’s problems can increase due to cold.
Increased chill in Delhi
The chill has started increasing in the national capital Delhi. Along with this, the fog has also started showing its effect. On Monday (December 19) in Delhi, the minimum temperature is expected to be around 6 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature is expected to be around 24 degree Celsius.
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of moderate fog on Monday. Amidst all this, the situation regarding pollution in the capital still remains worrying. Delhi’s AQI 353 was recorded till 4 pm on Sunday.
Trouble will increase due to cold wave
According to the forecast of the Meteorological Department, the effect of cold wave will be seen in many parts of Punjab like Punjab, North Rajasthan and Himachal Pradesh. Also, there is fog in parts of Bihar and eastern Uttar Pradesh. The minimum temperature in Lucknow is expected to be 10 degree Celsius while the maximum temperature is expected to be 23 degree Celsius.
Apart from this, people’s problems have increased due to fog in many other states of North India including Punjab. The speed of vehicles on the roads also slowed down. In many districts including Begusarai, Chapra, Katihar of Bihar, tremors are going to increase after 25th December.

There is a possibility of further fall in the minimum temperature in many parts of the state from 23 to 29 December. Till December 22, the cold is expected to increase further due to the fall in the minimum temperature in most places. At the same time, the effect of fog will also be seen.

Due to high temperature even in December, Mumbaikars are facing problems. The minimum temperature in Mumbai is likely to remain at 24 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature at 35 degree Celsius on Monday (December 19). Earlier on Friday and Saturday also Mumbai was the hottest in India. Similar weather can continue for the next few days.
Where can it rain
There are still chances of rain in the southern parts of the country. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in parts of Coastal Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Andaman and Nicobar Islands. At the same time, there may be light to moderate rain in some places.
Light rain is also likely in some parts of South Andhra Pradesh during the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rain may occur at some places in Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on December 21 as well. There is a possibility of light rain with thunder in some places.
