Action taken for these reasons
The DGCA said that these enforcement actions were taken against operators and flying training organizations and airlines who did not comply with the prescribed safety standards and norms, compromising the safety of aircraft operations. Explain that action was also taken against the guilty pilots, cabin crew, air traffic controllers (ATC), aircraft maintenance engineers and various post holders who did not follow the prescribed rules and SOPs.
Fined in crores
DGCA said that lapses were found on the part of air traffic controllers and various flying training organizations in following safety standards, after which action was taken. Apart from this, DGCA said that in the year 2022, a fine of Rs 1.975 crore has also been imposed on various airlines, airport operators and FTOs in 39 cases.
According to the DGCA, IndiGo has been fined for wrongfully offloading a disabled person on a no-frills carrier. At the same time, Air India, owned by the Tata Group, did not compensate the passengers against the denial of boarding. Action has been taken on this airlines regarding this matter.
Along with this, SpiceJet has been punished for not providing better facilities for the training of pilots, while Vistara has been fined for not following the route distribution guidelines.
