Tomorrow’s weather, January 18, 2025: Snowfall on the mountains, orange alert of cold and fog in Delhi-NCR, know the weather update of UP-MP.

New Delhi: Cold wave continues in many states including Delhi-NCR. Since Friday morning, there is fog in Delhi-NCR, UP, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. IMD has issued orange alert regarding fog and cold in western Uttar Pradesh including Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be a slight change in temperature in the coming days. There may be fog on Friday and Saturday. But, after that the weather is expected to remain clear. The temperature remained below zero due to snowfall in many areas of the hill state Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

Rain alert amid dense fog and cold

In view of the dense fog in Delhi, the Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert. A warning has also been given regarding the next two days. India Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of dense fog on 18 and 19 January. IMD said that after rain in Delhi on Thursday, the sky remained clear and the minimum temperature was recorded at 10.3 degrees Celsius, which is 2.7 degrees above normal. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Delhi on 21 and 22 January.

No improvement in air quality, Grap-3 implemented

Meanwhile, due to increase in rain and wind speed, the air quality in Delhi-NCR has not improved significantly. AQI has decreased from 386 to 302. For this reason the restrictions of Grape 4 have been lifted. However, to control pollution, some restrictions will remain in force under Group 3. According to the Meteorological Department, there will be light rain, dense fog and cold winds in the next few days.

Fog havoc in UP, Bihar, Rajasthan

Apart from Delhi, there is a possibility of dense fog in many areas of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Rajasthan, which may reduce visibility. On Thursday, Delhi’s minimum temperature was recorded at 10.3 degrees Celsius, which was 2.7 degrees above normal. The humidity level during the day remained between 74 to 100 percent. According to the department, the maximum temperature was 19.6 degrees Celsius, which is normal for this season.

Chilliness increased after snowfall in Kashmir

After snowfall in Kashmir, a drop in minimum temperature has been recorded at most places and the Meteorological Department has predicted dry weather here in the next three days. Snowfall occurred in the higher reaches of Kashmir as well as in some plain areas of the valley on Thursday. Officials said that after the snowfall, the cold wave in Kashmir became more intense and at most places the temperature dropped at night.

Severe winter, dense fog in Rajasthan

It is extremely cold in Rajasthan and the morning dawned with dense fog in many areas on Friday. The minimum temperature has been recorded at five degrees Celsius or below at many places in the state. According to the Meteorological Center Jaipur, during the last 24 hours till Friday morning, ‘cold day’ i.e. severe cold continued at many places in the state. Dense fog remained in some parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, Kota and Bharatpur divisions.

Cold day alert, possibility of rain at some places

Light rain was recorded at isolated places in eastern Rajasthan, while the weather remained dry in western Rajasthan. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of ‘cold day’ being recorded at some places on Saturday and dense fog at some places in the next 2-3 days. Along with this, due to a new western disturbance becoming active on January 21-22, there is a possibility of light rain at isolated places in the north-western and north-eastern parts of the state.

People are suffering due to cold in MP

People are suffering from cold all over North India at this time. It is extremely cold these days in Madhya Pradesh also. In Shivpuri district, people are taking help of bonfire to escape the harshness of winter. Due to fog and strong winds, the traffic here is also being affected, due to which normal life is being affected. Due to dense fog, visibility was very low here. The sun has not been shining here for the last several days. The Meteorological Department said that there are chances of rain in the plains in the next few days.

Cold outbreak continues in Punjab and Haryana

Cold continued in Punjab and Haryana on Friday also. According to the Meteorological Department, Pathankot was the coldest place in Punjab, where the temperature was recorded at 2.8 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Amritsar was 6.9 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees above normal. The minimum temperature in Ludhiana was recorded at 7.6 degrees Celsius, which is one degree Celsius above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature of Ambala in Haryana was 8.5 degrees Celsius, while Rohtak recorded a temperature of 10.1 degrees Celsius.

Cold wave in Himachal amid fresh snowfall

Severe cold wave continues in most parts of Himachal Pradesh and the situation has worsened due to light to moderate snowfall in high altitude areas and tribal areas. Meteorological Department officials said that 1.6 cm snowfall was recorded in the capital Shimla. Dalhousie, Manali and areas around Solang Nala and Atal Tunnel also received snowfall on Thursday. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of rain and snowfall at different places in the central and high altitude mountainous areas.
