Tomorrow’s weather 31 December 2024: Snowfall in Kashmir, cold wave in Delhi-NCR, know the condition of UP-Bihar-Rajasthan

New Delhi: The entire North India is in the grip of severe cold and cold wave. According to the Meteorological Department, the situation is likely to remain similar for the next three to four days. There was definitely some sunshine during the day in Delhi-NCR on Monday. However, there was not much relief from the harshness of winter. The effect of snowfall in the hilly areas was visible in the plains. Most parts of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand to Rajasthan are experiencing severe winter. In many areas, common people are facing problems due to fog in the morning.

Severe cold in Kashmir

Severe cold continues due to cold wave in Gulmarg and Pahalgam of Kashmir. The temperature has dropped several degrees below freezing point. However, there has been some respite from the cold in other parts of the valley. The Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature in Gulmarg, a tourist spot famous for ‘skiing’ activities in North Kashmir, was recorded at minus 10 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees less than the previous night.

Valley in the grip of ‘Chilla-e-Kalan’

The night temperature in Srinagar was recorded at minus 0.9 degrees Celsius, which is one degree above normal. The Meteorological Department said that the minimum temperature in Qazigund, the gateway to Kashmir, was recorded at minus 2.8 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Konibal was minus 1.4 degrees Celsius. Presently the Kashmir valley is in the grip of ‘Chilla-e-Kalan’ (period of extreme cold). It is considered the hardest time of winter, which started from December 21.

Delhi in the grip of cold wave

The minimum temperature in the national capital Delhi was recorded at 10.3 degrees Celsius on Monday. This is 3.5 degrees more than normal. The air quality in Delhi at 9 am was in ‘moderate’ category at 178. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of severe cold in Delhi-NCR for the next few days.

Minimum temperature around 10 degrees

There may be fog and dense fog at most places on Tuesday, 31st December. Dense fog is expected at some places in the morning. There is a possibility of mist or light fog in the evening and night. The Meteorological Department has predicted the maximum temperature to be around 18 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature to be around nine degrees Celsius.

Severe cold in Rajasthan

Cold day to very cold day was recorded at some places in eastern parts and western parts with maximum temperatures falling in most parts of Rajasthan. According to Jaipur Weather Centre, fog was recorded in Jaipur, Jodhpur, Jaisalmer, Churu, Sri Ganganagar, Barmer, Jaipur, Kota, Ajmer, Alwar, Bharatpur, Dausa, Jhunjhunu, Sawai Madhopur, Sikar on Monday morning.

Dense fog in many areas

Due to dense fog, drivers faced problems on the highways. Due to fog and cold wave, there was a feeling of melting on Monday morning. According to the department, the lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded at 5.2 degrees Celsius in Sirohi. The minimum temperature was recorded at 5.3 degrees in Chittorgarh, 5.5 degrees in Jodhpur, 5.6 degrees in Dabok (Udaipur), 7.2 degrees Celsius in Jaipur, and below 10 degrees Celsius at many other places. Jaipur Meteorological Center has issued warnings of fog and cold wave at many places.

Mount Abu covered with snow

Mount Abu of Rajasthan was again covered with snow on Monday. There was snowfall again at Polo Ground and tourists are feeling like Kashmir. There has been a continuous decline in the temperature in this only hill station of Rajasthan for the last two days. The temperature in Mount Abu on Sunday was -4 degrees Celsius, four degrees below freezing point. It definitely improved by one degree on Monday. But, still Mount Abu is covered with snow. There is snowy weather everywhere in the gardens, grounds and roads of Mount Abu. Now they are getting the feel of Kashmir and Himachal in Mount Abu.

Cold wave in UP, rain alert in Bihar

Severe cold wave is going on in UP-Bihar. Rain alert has been issued in 13 districts of Bihar. In Uttar Pradesh, normal life is affected due to cold wave. The mercury has fallen to 3 degrees here. The weather has changed in UP, Bihar, Jharkhand. The chill has increased further. There is a possibility of rain in Bihar.

Mercury dropped in Punjab and Haryana

It is extremely cold in Punjab and Haryana. The maximum temperature in both the states was recorded below normal on Sunday. According to the Meteorological Department, visibility was reduced due to dense fog in the morning at many places in both the states. According to the local weather office, the maximum temperature in Chandigarh was recorded at 17.4 degrees Celsius.

Normal life affected due to severe cold

At the same time, it was extremely cold during the day at most places in Haryana. The maximum temperature in Ambala, Haryana was recorded at 15.8 degrees Celsius, while it was 13.6 degrees Celsius in Hisar, 13 degrees Celsius in Karnal, 12.2 degrees Celsius in Rohtak, 13.4 degrees Celsius in Sirsa and 13.2 degrees Celsius in Gurugram. The day temperature in Punjab’s Amritsar was recorded at 16.7 degrees Celsius, while Ludhiana recorded 16 degrees Celsius.
