Heavy rain alert in Uttarakhand

A yellow alert for rain has been issued in most districts of Garhwal and the capital Dehradun. The Meteorological Department has appealed to people to be cautious in view of the rain. Along with this, a warning has also been issued to avoid going near rivers and streams. The Meteorological Center has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain with strong thunder in some parts of Pauri, Champawat and Nainital districts including Dehradun. While there are chances of several rounds of heavy rain in some areas of Uttarkashi, Chamoli, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Pithoragarh, Bageshwar, Almora, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts. Heavy rain is also likely in the plains along with the hilly districts.

Rain wreaks havoc in UP, 11 people died
