The Meteorological Department has predicted light rain in Delhi tomorrow i.e. on Sunday. At the same time, heavy rains will continue in Uttarakhand, Himachal and other hilly areas of the country for the next few days. From Gujarat to Odisha, the entire central India and the southern peninsular region will remain in the grip of heavy rains till Sunday. However, Kerala and Tamil Nadu will not see much effect of rain during this period. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert regarding rain in many areas including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Telangana.

Two lakh people affected by floods in Assam

The flood situation in Assam has improved and the number of people affected by it has come down to two lakh in 10 districts of the state. Official sources gave this information on Saturday. Two major rivers including Brahmaputra are continuously flowing above the danger level. Cachar, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Golaghat, Kamrup Metropolitan, Karimganj, Nagaon and Shivsagar districts are affected by the floods. Sources said that 2.07 lakh people are still affected in the state. Nagaon is the worst affected with 74 thousand people, followed by 36 thousand people in Cachar affected by the floods, while 20 thousand people are affected by this disaster in Dhubri.

Many areas inundated due to heavy rains in Karnataka

Due to continuous heavy rainfall in the coastal districts of Karnataka, low lying areas of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts have been submerged in water, in view of which officials visited these areas today and gave instructions for relief and rescue work. A state government spokesperson said that in view of the floods, Dakshina Kannada District Collector Mullai Muhilan visited the affected areas on Friday and took stock of the situation. he/she met the flood-affected people and listened to their problems. The District Collector instructed the officials to keep a constant watch on the flood-affected and flood-prone areas. he/she also gave instructions to shift the people living in the flood-affected areas to safe places and set up relief camps.

Heavy rains have disrupted life in some districts of Gujarat

Porbandar, Junagadh and Devbhoomi Dwarka districts of Gujarat received heavy rainfall in the last 36 hours till 6 pm on Friday. At the same time, Porbandar taluka received 565 mm of rain during this period. Officials gave this information. Officials said that more rain is expected in Porbandar in the next four days. he/she said that due to heavy rains, many areas of these districts were waterlogged, due to which some roads, bridges and underpasses were closed, traffic was disrupted and people had to face many problems. According to the data released by the State Emergency Operations Center, Porbandar taluka of Saurashtra region received the highest rainfall of 565 mm in the last 36 hours till 6 pm. It was followed by 412 mm rain in Kalyanpur taluka of Devbhoomi Dwarka, 401 mm in Keshod taluka of Junagadh, 353 mm in Vanthali and 330 mm in Ranavav of Porbandar.

Heavy rain is predicted in many areas of Rajasthan

Due to the activity of monsoon, heavy rain is expected in many divisions of Rajasthan in the coming days. According to Jaipur Meteorological Center, the low pressure area formed in the Bay of Bengal will move towards Odisha, Chhattisgarh today and is likely to weaken in the next 12 hours. The Meteorological Center said that the monsoon ‘trough line’ is passing through Jaisalmer and Ajmer. According to this, due to the effect of the above system, rain is likely to continue in some places of eastern Rajasthan in the coming days. There is a possibility of increase in rain activities in eastern Rajasthan on 21-23 July and heavy rain at some places and very heavy rain at one or two places in Kota, Udaipur, Jaipur, Ajmer and Bharatpur divisions. At the same time, there is a possibility of thunderstorms and rain activities in some parts of Jodhpur and Bikaner divisions of western Rajasthan in the coming days.

There is a possibility of heavy rain at many places in Uttarakhand

The weather department has predicted heavy rain in many areas of Uttarakhand. The Dehradun-based weather department office has issued a warning about rain from Saturday. According to the Uttarakhand Meteorological Department, moderate to heavy rain is likely in Kumaon, Garhwal, Dehradun and many plain areas of the state. An orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rain in most districts of Kumaon for the next 24 to 48 hours. A yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued in most districts of Garhwal including the capital Dehradun and the plain areas. According to the IMD, heavy rain accompanied by thunder and lightning may occur at different places in Uttarakhand.

Where will there be heavy rain?

According to the Meteorological Department, heavy to very heavy rains are expected in Central India and South Peninsular regions during the next 24 hours. IMD forecasts rain in Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Gujarat and East Rajasthan during the next three days. These areas will be affected by the new system. Apart from this, weather systems are active in some other areas due to which the effect of monsoon continues.
