Delhi: Pollution hits with cold
While on one hand the cold is increasing in Delhi-NCR, on the other hand the air is becoming poisonous due to pollution. Group 4 rules have been implemented. According to the Meteorological Department, now along with the minimum temperature, there will also be a decline in the maximum temperature. The Meteorological Department says that there is a possibility of dense fog in NCR from 19 to 22 December. Due to the cold wave, along with the minimum temperature, there will be a decline in the maximum temperature too.
How will the weather be?
The Meteorological Department says that the minimum temperature is likely to fall further due to the effect of a weak western disturbance. Fog is expected to persist in Delhi for the next few days. At the same time, the weather in Jammu and Kashmir has been predicted to remain mainly dry till December 26. Also, there is a possibility of light snowfall in the higher reaches of the valley on the midnight of 21st to 22nd December. In Himachal Pradesh, ‘Yellow Alert’ has been issued for cold wave conditions at different places in the lower hills and plains of four districts for the next two days.
Himachal: Orange alert issued for severe cold wave
The local meteorological department of Himachal Pradesh has issued an orange alert of cold wave for the next two days at different places in the lower hills and plains of four out of the 12 districts of the state. According to the Meteorological Department, severe cold is expected to continue at different places in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur and Mandi districts. At the same time, there is a possibility of cold wave in Kangra and frost in Kangra as well as Kullu districts till Saturday.
Rajasthan: Cold wave continues with severe cold
Severe winter is occurring in many areas of Rajasthan. Continuous cold wave continues in the state. According to Jaipur Meteorological Centre, the weather in the state remained generally dry in the last 24 hours. During this period, cold wave to extreme cold wave was recorded at some places. Fog was also seen at some places in eastern Rajasthan.
During this period, the lowest minimum temperature was recorded at 0.1 degree Celsius in Fatehpur, Sikar. Apart from this, the minimum temperature was recorded at 1.3 degrees in Sangaria, 1.8 degrees in Churu, 1.9 degrees in Nagaur, 2.8 degrees in Sikar, 3.4 degrees in Karauli, 4.1 degrees in Pilani and 5.0 degrees Celsius in Bikaner. The cold wave and extreme cold wave at some places in the state is expected to continue for four to five days.
Maharashtra: Cold wave in many parts
Many parts of Maharashtra are in the grip of cold wave and the minimum temperature has dropped to single digits at many places in the state. The minimum temperature in Pune’s Baramati was 7.8 degrees Celsius, while Pune and Nashik districts recorded eight degrees Celsius.
The mercury dropped to 8.3 degrees Celsius in Jalgaon while the minimum temperatures in Parbhani, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Dharashiv were recorded at 9.4, 10 and 10.2 degrees Celsius respectively. Malegaon in Nashik district recorded a minimum temperature of 9.8 degrees Celsius.
Tamil Nadu: Rain forecast in many parts
There is a possibility of heavy rain in the coastal districts of Tamil Nadu. In view of the weather, fishermen have also been advised to avoid going into the sea. According to information received from the Meteorological Department, the low pressure area formed in the south-east of the Bay of Bengal may become more pronounced in the next two days. It may move in west-northwest direction towards Tamil Nadu coast. Because of this it may rain.
