During this period there was a slight increase in the maximum temperature. However, the Meteorological Department has predicted a drop in the minimum temperature from January 14 i.e. Makar Sankranti. If we talk about Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, there was some improvement in the weather there. Melting increased due to rain the day before and the effect of fog was also visible. According to the Meteorological Department, cold weather will continue in North India for the next few days. However, after January 14 i.e. Makar Sankranti, there may be some relief from the cold wave. An alert has been issued in some places including Bihar and Rajasthan regarding fog.

Cold wave continues in Delhi, mercury will fall further

The effect of fog is visible in many states of the country including the national capital Delhi. According to the Meteorological Department, a yellow alert has been issued for dense fog in some areas on Tuesday. On Monday, the day started with cold winds, however, the sunshine brought great relief to the people during the day. IMD has predicted mainly clear skies in its forecast for January 14. However, there is a possibility of mist or light fog during the evening and night. The Meteorological Department has said that cold north-westerly winds are about to return, which will increase the cold in the area.

Melting increased in UP, people forced to shiver

The weather patterns have changed in Uttar Pradesh. Melting increased due to sudden rain at many places on Sunday. However, the weather remained clear on Monday. Cold alert with dense fog in Rajasthan

According to the Meteorological Department, there was drizzle at many places in the last 24 hours. According to the Meteorological Center Jaipur, till Monday morning, light drizzle occurred at many places in eastern Rajasthan in the last 24 hours. The weather remained dry in western Rajasthan. Dense fog remained present in many areas. Due to cold winds, cold days were recorded at many places during this period. The weather is expected to remain dry on January 14.

Clear sky in Kashmir, drop in mercury

The sky remained clear across Kashmir, although mercury dropped with Pahalgam remaining the coldest place in the valley at minus 8.4 degrees Celsius. The weather department has said that the weather in the valley is likely to remain mainly dry for the next few days. On January 14, the weather will be cloudy and dry. January 15 and 16 will be generally cloudy with light snowfall in the higher reaches in the morning of January 16. January 17 to 19 will be generally cloudy and there is no chance of rain till the 19th.

Cold wave continues in Punjab, Haryana

There was no reduction in the cold in Punjab and Haryana on Monday and the minimum temperature in Amritsar was recorded at 4.7 degrees Celsius. According to the Meteorological Department report, among other places in Punjab, Ludhiana recorded a minimum temperature of 8.8 degrees Celsius. The weather department has predicted severe cold for the next few days. The minimum temperature in Haryana was 8.8 degrees Celsius. Chandigarh, the joint capital of Punjab and Haryana, recorded a minimum temperature of 8.3 degrees Celsius, which is one degree Celsius above the normal temperature for this season.
