Snowfall in higher areas of Kashmir
Despite night temperatures being above zero at most places in Kashmir, fresh snowfall occurred at many places in the valley including tourist towns in the higher reaches of the valley on Saturday. Officials said that due to the impact of western disturbance, there was fresh snowfall at many high altitude places in Kashmir. The first snowfall of this season occurred in Pahalgam, a famous tourist destination in Anantnag district of South Kashmir. There was snowfall at other tourist places including Gulmarg and Sonmarg.
