New Delhi: The entire North India is shivering due to severe cold. The national capital Delhi is also not untouched by this. There was light rain in some parts of the city on Monday morning, which gave people some respite from the fog. Meanwhile, the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.6 degrees Celsius. Normal life is affected by the cold wave in most of the states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab. The mercury is continuously going down in the hilly areas of Kashmir, Himachal and Uttarakhand. Rain amid severe cold in Delhi

Due to dense fog in Delhi-NCR, visibility was reduced to zero on Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning. Due to this many flights and trains were affected. On Monday morning, the fog cleared due to light rain. People have got some relief. However, the temperature definitely went down and the cold increased. There was no sunshine throughout the day in Delhi-NCR on Monday. People who came out of their homes faced difficulties due to cloudy weather and cold winds. Whereas IMD has issued ‘Yellow Alert’ for dense fog tomorrow i.e. Tuesday.

How will the weather be in Delhi-NCR on January 7?

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature is expected to be 18 degrees and the minimum temperature will be 11 degrees with dense fog on January 7. Similarly, there is a possibility of dense fog in NCR on 8th, 9th and 10th January also. During this period also a drop in maximum and minimum temperatures will be recorded. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of rain in NCR once again on 11 and 12 January.

Cold wave outbreak in Bihar, schools closed in Patna

Bihar is in the grip of cold wave where the minimum temperature has been recorded at 10 degrees Celsius or below at many places. Patna district administration has ordered all government and private schools up to class VIII to remain closed till January 11 due to severe cold. The Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of dense fog in some places of the state on Tuesday. There is a possibility of very dense fog at many places in the next two-three days.

Severe winter in entire UP including Kumbhanagari Prayagraj

Due to continuous snowfall in the mountains, its effect is being seen in Uttar Pradesh also. There is severe winter in the state at present. The cold is likely to increase further in the coming days. The cold winds that have been blowing for the last several days are giving a tough test to the people. The cold has given people sleepless nights.

The temperature has fallen so low that people have started feeling the cold of Leh, Ladakh, Shimla, Manali in Prayagraj. The Meteorological Department has predicted that the weather will continue like winter in the coming days. In the last several days, people in UP have had only a limited glimpse of the Sun. There is dense fog in the morning, which slows down the speed of vehicles on the road. At the same time, cold winds are making the cold worse.

Winter continues in Punjab and Haryana

Cold conditions persisted at many places in Punjab and Haryana on Monday also. The Meteorological Department said that Ballowal Soukhari in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district of Punjab was the coldest place, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 6.6 degrees Celsius. Elsewhere in Punjab, the minimum temperature in Amritsar was recorded at 7.9 degrees Celsius, which is four degrees above normal.

In Haryana, the minimum temperature was recorded at 9.9 degrees Celsius in Ambala, 9.4 degrees in Hisar, 8.5 degrees in Karnal, 7.5 degrees in Narnaul, 10.0 degrees in Bhiwani and 12.0 degrees in Sirsa. Fog also remained at some places in both the states. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of relief from cold in the next few days.
