Snowfall amid severe cold in Kashmir
Severe cold continues in Kashmir and there are chances of snowfall once again in the valley. There is a possibility of continuous impact of Western Disturbance twice one after the other in Kashmir region from Wednesday. According to the Meteorological Department, a western disturbance will affect Jammu and Kashmir from January 1 to 2, which is likely to cause light snowfall at some places from Wednesday evening to Thursday morning. The Meteorological Department said that due to western disturbance from January 3 to 6, there is a possibility of light to moderate snowfall at most places in the state, while there will be heavy snowfall from January 4 to 6. Meanwhile, night temperatures have dropped at most places in Kashmir and chill has increased in the valley.
Uttar Pradesh shivered due to severe cold
The Lucknow-based Meteorological Department of Uttar Pradesh said that the maximum temperature has dropped by more than five degrees Celsius in at least 50 districts in the state. According to the department, the severe cold is expected to continue till Wednesday. The minimum temperature was recorded at 13 degrees Celsius. According to the department, the day and night temperatures dropped significantly due to cloudy sky and day temperature being around 15 degrees Celsius. Due to the effect of northern icy winds, the cold has increased in Rajasthan and normal life has been affected due to freezing cold and fog. According to Jaipur Meteorological Center, the cold wave is expected to remain the same for the next two-three days and the effect of the cold wave is expected to increase further on Wednesday.
How will the weather be in Haryana, Punjab and Uttarakhand?
Severe cold continued at various places in Haryana and Punjab with temperatures remaining below normal in both the states. According to the Meteorological Department, Narnaul in Haryana was the coldest place in the state on Tuesday where the minimum temperature was recorded at 4.5 degrees Celsius, which is two degrees below normal. Bathinda was the coldest place in Punjab where the minimum temperature was recorded at five degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in Sangrur was 5.3 degrees Celsius while Faridkot recorded a minimum temperature of six degrees Celsius. After heavy snowfall in Uttarakhand, a large number of tourists reached the picturesque places to welcome the New Year, enjoying the clear weather and bright sunshine.
