According to the Meteorological Department, there has been heavy rain in Tamil Nadu. There has also been heavy rain in the northeastern states and Kerala, South Karnataka and Lakshadweep. The Meteorological Department has said that the departure of monsoon is yet to come and there is a possibility of rain in many parts of the country for the next five to seven days.

Effect of trough line and cyclonic winds in these states

According to the Meteorological Department, a cyclonic circulation has formed around the Bay of Bengal and the coasts of northern Tamil Nadu, southern Andhra Pradesh. This cyclonic region extends up to the middle troposphere. Apart from this, a cyclonic circulation also persists around Ganga, West Bengal. A trough is extending from Jharkhand to Manipur and another trough is extending from south-eastern Arabian Sea to Lakshadweep, Rayalaseema.

Heavy rain in the states of South India

According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Tamil Nadu and Kerala in the next 24 hours. Very heavy rain may also occur at some places in North Tamil Nadu and Kerala. The Meteorological Department has said that 6 to 10 cm of rain may occur in these areas. There is a possibility of heavy rain in Rayalaseema and South Karnataka also.

There will be rain in North East and North India also

Heavy rains may also occur in the northeastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya and Nagaland. According to the Meteorological Department, the rest of eastern and western India may receive light to moderate rain with thunderstorms. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorm in Maharashtra also. Light to moderate rain may occur over North-West India, especially Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and surrounding areas.
