Today’s weather 12 October 2024: The capital witnessed the first major drop of the season in temperature on Friday. Not only the minimum temperature but also the maximum temperature also declined. In many areas the temperature reached below 20 degrees. Light cold has started being felt in these areas. The cold may increase more rapidly in the coming days. This drop in temperature is due to the cold winds coming from the high hilly areas. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature dropped to 33.6 degrees on Friday. It was one degree less than normal. The minimum temperature was 20.3 degrees. It was one degree less than normal. The humidity level in the air ranged from 36 to 87 percent. The minimum temperature in the ridge was only 15.7. This is six degrees less than normal. The minimum temperature in Aya Nagar was 18.2. It was three degrees less than normal. According to the forecast, it may remain partly cloudy on Saturday. The maximum temperature can be up to 34 degrees and the minimum temperature can be up to 21 degrees. Whereas between October 13 to 17, the maximum temperature can be 34 to 35 degrees and the minimum temperature can be 21 to 22 degrees. It may remain partly cloudy.

According to Skymet, the cold is gradually increasing in the northern plains of the country. Now the temperature has started becoming lower than normal. The minimum temperature in Safdarjung and Palam has reached around 20 degrees. At the same time, people have started feeling slight cold in the morning and night in Ridge, Lodhi Road and Aya Nagar. The weather in the capital will remain dry for the next seven to ten days. There will be no activity in the mountains for the next 4 to five days. North-westerly winds coming from the mountain slopes may reduce the temperature by one to two degrees in the next few days. Evenings and nights will remain pleasant because of this. There will be slight cold in the morning. There will be no humidity during the day and the afternoon will also be comfortable with slight warmth. The maximum temperature may remain at 33 to 34 degrees for the next few days. The minimum temperature is likely to be between 19 to 20 degrees.

Post monsoon system is forming

A slight increase in morning temperatures may be seen by the middle of next week. A post-monsoon system from the Bay of Bengal will reach South India up to the Konkan coast, which will change the wind direction over Delhi and surrounding areas. Between October 17 and 20, the effect of cold north-westerly winds may stop for some time, due to which the humidity levels may increase and the afternoons may become hot and slightly humid. There is no possibility of rain in October.

Today the weather will be generally dry in Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab. There is no possibility of rain over western Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and most parts of Himachal Pradesh. Light drizzle may occur over parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan. Light to moderate rain may occur at some places in Gujarat, especially in the southern parts. Apart from this, monsoon has completely withdrawn in most of the areas.

There will be clouds in many areas of Rajasthan

Many areas of Rajasthan are likely to remain cloudy today and for the next three-four days with light to moderate rain at isolated places. According to the Meteorological Center (Jaipur), due to the influence of easterly winds, there is a possibility of cloudy sky and light rain at some places and moderate rain at some places in some parts of Udaipur, Kota and Jodhpur divisions of southern Rajasthan.
