Let’s start with the weather of Delhi

Delhiites are currently struggling with pollution, dense fog and severe cold. The Meteorological Department has said that fog will increase further for today and tomorrow. This is the first time this season that an orange alert has been issued regarding fog. According to the Meteorological Department, fog will continue in the coming days.
20 December: There will be dense fog at most places. There is a possibility of very dense fog at some places. Smog conditions will persist throughout the day. There will not be much fluctuation in temperature. The maximum temperature is expected to be 23 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 7 degrees Celsius.
21 December: There may be a slight reduction in the intensity of fog but moderate to dense fog may remain in the morning. Yellow alert has been issued for this day. The maximum temperature is expected to be 23 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 8 degrees Celsius.
22-24 December: There will be light to moderate fog these days. Besides, the cold will also increase. The maximum temperature can be around 22-23 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature can be around 5 degrees Celsius.

Situation in Punjab-Haryana?

The effect of severe cold and cold wave in Delhi is also being seen in Punjab and Haryana. Yellow alert of cold wave along with fog has been issued in Punjab today. Apart from this, this phase of cold wave will continue from December 21 to December 24. Meanwhile, fog will also cause trouble in the morning and evening. Today in many areas the minimum temperature will be 3 degrees, the maximum temperature will go up to 20 degrees. Talking about Haryana, apart from today, fog along with cold wave will trouble here for the next 4 days. Today the minimum temperature will drop to 6 degrees, the maximum temperature will be 23 degrees. The minimum temperature in Chandigarh will go up to 5 degrees.

How will the weather be in the hilly states?

If we talk about the areas of Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, the severe cold and snowfall have created fun for the tourists. The mercury is being noted in minus in areas like Gulmarg, Sonmarg, Srinagar, Kupwara. Apart from this, the mercury will remain at 6 degrees in Jammu also. Even in mountainous areas today the mercury can go up to minus 6.

Talking about Uttarakhand, these days the weather has taken a sudden turn in Uttarakhand. Due to dry weather in the state, the minimum temperature has increased by three to four degrees Celsius above normal. According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain clear till at least December 22. However, cold will continue to be felt due to cold winds, but rain is necessary for the minimum temperature to drop. Due to the strong sunlight during the day, both the minimum and maximum temperatures have increased. Talking about Himachal Pradesh, orange alert of cold has been issued today. Apart from this, similar weather will continue for the next three days. During this period people will have to face severe cold.

Condition of other states including UP-Rajasthan

Even in Uttar Pradesh, people are feeling chill due to the drop in minimum temperature. Talking about today, fog alert has been issued in many districts. These days the weather patterns are constantly changing in Uttar Pradesh. Sometimes it is extremely cold and sometimes there is some relief. However, the fog continues. On Thursday, fog warning has been issued in many districts including Gonda, Santakbirnagar, Basti, Kushinagar and Maharajganj. At present there is no warning of cold wave in the state, but meteorologists believe that the cold may increase further in the coming days.

Talking about Rajasthan, according to the latest bulletin of the Meteorological Department, cold wave continues in many parts of Rajasthan. Today, Thursday, December 19, a cold wave warning has been issued in the districts of Alwar, Bharatpur, Dausa, Dholpur, Jhunjhunu, Sikar, Churu, Hanumangarh, Ganganagar and Nagaur. Of these, there is a possibility of extreme cold wave in Sikar and Jhunjhunu districts.

There is no possibility of cold wave in Madhya Pradesh for the next few days. However, light to moderate fog may occur in some districts. Fog warning has been issued in Gwalior, Datia, Bhind, Morena, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh and Niwari districts. Weather experts estimate that the minimum temperature may increase by about three degrees Celsius in the next three days. Most parts of the state will remain dry.
