The cold wave accompanying the drop in temperature in the morning and evening is making people shiver. Along with cold, pollution has also started increasing in Delhi. In other states including MP-Bihar, Rajasthan and UP, the mercury has fallen by 4-5 degrees. On both days, not only cold but also fog, smog and pollution will make life difficult for people.

After snowfall in the mountains, cold has completely knocked in many plains of North India including Delhi. It is becoming chilly in the morning. People are getting relief from cold only after the sun comes. According to the forecast, there may be moderate fog with smog on Tuesday morning. There will be cold wave conditions in some places. The maximum temperature will be around 24 degrees and the minimum temperature will be around 5 degrees. There will be moderate fog with smog on 18th December also. Cold wave conditions will persist in some places. The maximum temperature can be 22 and the minimum temperature can be 5 degrees. There may be smog and moderate and light fog from 19 to 22 December. The maximum temperature during this period can be 22 to 24 degrees and the minimum temperature can be 5 to 7 degrees.

According to the forecast, pollution levels may become severe on December 17. After this, it will be very bad on 18th and 19th December. Winds will remain low during this period. Even after this, the level of pollution will remain from very bad to very bad for the next six days. On Monday, the wind speed remained up to 6 kilometers per hour till the evening. After this it further reduced to 4 kilometers per hour. On Tuesday, the wind speed will be less than 4 kilometers per hour in the morning.

If we talk about Punjab-Haryana, the states adjacent to Delhi, it is very cold here too. There is a yellow alert of cold wave in Punjab today. The maximum temperature can drop to 21 degrees while the minimum temperature can drop to 4 degrees. Talking about Haryana, yellow alert of cold wave has been issued here also today. The effect of cold wave will be seen here also till 20th December. The maximum temperature can go up to 22 degrees while the minimum temperature can go up to 7 degrees. The mercury has fallen by 5 degrees in Chandigarh.

What is the situation in the hill states?
Snowfall is currently being seen in the hilly states. It is like a pleasant feeling for the travelers. The mercury will remain in minus in Kupwara, Kukarnag, Gulmarg and Srinagar in Jammu and Kashmir. At other places the minimum temperature can go up to 5 degrees. There will be a yellow alert of cold wave here for the whole week i.e. till 22nd December.

Talking about Uttarakhand, here too the mercury is in minus at many places. Talking about today, the weather will be clear. The maximum temperature is 24 degrees Celsius while the minimum temperature can go down to minus 1 degree at one or two places. Due to this the cold will bother you. If we talk about Himachal Pradesh, there is a slight difference here. There is a cold wave alert here today which will last till December 22. Apart from this, people will have to face cold winter due to falling mercury in many places.

How will the weather be in these states including UP?
Talking about Uttar Pradesh, the weather will be clear in western and eastern parts. Dense fog can also be seen at some places. Dense fog can be seen in Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Sant Kabirnagar, Basti, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Siddharthnagar and Gonda districts. Similar weather is going to prevail in the areas of Balrampur, Shravasti, Bahraich, Lakhimpur Kheri, Sitapur, Hardoi, Farrukhabad, Kannauj, Saharanpur, Shamli, Muzaffarnagar.

Talking about Rajasthan, there will be yellow alert of cold wave in eastern and western areas. Apart from this, cold wave will trouble people till 22 December. The Meteorological Department said that there is a strong possibility that the ongoing cold wave/extreme cold wave will continue in the coming days. During this period, the minimum temperature is likely to be below 2 degrees at some places in Shekhawati region. There is a strong possibility that the weather in the state will remain mainly dry for the next one week. The effect of cold is also being seen in Bihar. At many places the temperature has dropped by 2-3 degrees. For today also, the Meteorological Department has said that cold will increase with dense fog in many districts.
