Today’s weather and AQI 16 December 2024: In the month of December, the entire North India including Delhi is shivering with cold. Snowfall in the hilly states and the mercury dropping below zero has affected the temperatures in other states as well. Thick quilts and clothes have come out in the house. People are now relieving themselves by lighting bonfires in homes and on the roadside. This effect of cold will continue in future also. The weather department had already said that there would be severe cold. Let us see what the weather condition is going to be like across the country today.How will the cold be in Delhi?
Once again the cold in the capital on Sunday made people feel the chill in the morning. People got some relief due to sunshine during the day. There is not likely to be much change in the temperature in the next five to six days.

According to the forecast, there may be light to moderate fog and smog on Monday morning. The maximum temperature will be 23 and the minimum temperature will be 5 degrees. After this, from December 17 to 21, the maximum temperature will remain around 22 to 24 degrees and the minimum temperature will remain around 5 to 7 degrees. There will be light fog and smog in the morning. It may be partly cloudy on 21st December. The weather will remain sunny till 20th December. Because of this, people will get relief from cold in the afternoon.

What is the condition of Punjab-Haryana?
Let us talk about the two states adjacent to Delhi, Punjab and Haryana. Cold wave has been predicted in Punjab today. The Meteorological Department has declared yellow alert of cold wave. However, there is no cold wave alert from tomorrow till December 21. The maximum temperature can drop to 22 degrees while the minimum temperature can drop to 4 degrees. Talking about Haryana, cold wave warning has been issued here today and tomorrow. Not only this, dense fog will also be seen during this period. Today the maximum temperature can go up to 21 degrees and the minimum temperature can go up to 8 degrees. The minimum temperature in Chandigarh will be at 5 degrees and today there is a cold wave alert here too.

What is the situation in the hill states?
If we talk about Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh areas, people will have to face the cold wave here today too. Not only this, this trend will continue till 22nd December. The minimum mercury will be at minus 5 degrees in Kukarnag, Kupwara, Gulmarg, Pahalgam and Srinagar. The snowfall during this period will definitely make the tourists happy. The mercury will remain at 4-5 degrees in Jammu and other areas.

Talking about Uttarakhand, there is no cold wave alert here today. However, there is a cold wave alert tomorrow i.e. from 17th December to 19th December. Today the maximum temperature was 22 degrees while the minimum temperature was 4-8 degrees. In one or two hilly areas the mercury may even drop to minus. Talking about Himachal Pradesh, there will be a cold wave alert from today till December 18. The maximum temperature is 18-20 degrees while the minimum temperature can even go up to 1 degree. It is also being noted in minus at one or two places.

Know the weather of these states including UP
Strong effect of cold is being seen in Uttar Pradesh also. The weather will be dry in western and eastern parts. Its presence can be seen even at night with fog falling late at night and in the morning. Currently the minimum temperature can go up to 2.5 degrees. Today, there is a possibility of dense fog in Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Deoria, Gorakhpur, Basti, Sant Kabirnagar, Kushinagar, Maharajganj and Siddharthnagar of UP.

Talking about Rajasthan, there will be yellow and orange alert of cold wave in eastern and western regions from today till December 22. There will be severe cold during this period. Severe winter continues in Rajasthan. The minimum temperature in Fatehpur is being recorded below zero for several days continuously. According to the Meteorological Department, in the last 24 hours, cold wave was recorded at some places in the state and ‘extreme cold wave’ was recorded at one or two places. According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Fatehpur last night was recorded at minus 1.2 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature in most of the cities of the state also remains below 10 degrees. Talking about Bihar, there will be fluctuations in temperature for the next few days. Here too, the mercury has fallen by 5-6 degrees in many cities.
