Today’s weather and AQI 12 December 2024: Cold is in full swing in entire North India including Delhi. The effect of snowfall in hilly states is also visible in other states. Cold wave has started so early in Delhi after 28 years. A sharp drop in morning and evening temperatures is being observed. There is also an outbreak of cold wave in the states adjacent to Delhi like Punjab and Haryana. On the other hand, rain is causing trouble in the southern states. Cold wave has hit Delhi early this year. After 28 years, the capital is experiencing severe cold in the beginning of December itself. On Wednesday, the minimum temperature dropped to around 4 degrees Celsius, causing a lot of trouble to the people. On 12th and 13th December, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for both these days. The minimum temperature is likely to be 4 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is likely to be 23 degrees Celsius.
There may be light fog between 14 and 17 December and there may be a slight improvement in the temperature. The minimum temperature is expected to be 5-6 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature is expected to be 24 degrees Celsius.

How will the weather be in Punjab-Haryana?
The effect of cold is also being seen in the states adjacent to Delhi. If we talk about Punjab-Haryana, then after today the outbreak of cold wave will be seen for the next 3-4 days. Talking about Punjab, today people faced cold wave early in the morning. People woke up in the morning amidst severe cold. This situation will remain like this till 15th December. During this period, the maximum temperature will be 22 degrees while the minimum temperature will be 4 degrees. Talking about Haryana, cold wave will prevail here today also. Apart from this, there will be a significant impact of cold wave for the next 3-4 days i.e. till 15th December. Today the maximum temperature can go up to 23 degrees and the minimum temperature can go up to 5 degrees. In Chandigarh, the joint capital of both, the minimum temperature can go up to 5 degrees today.

Temperature drops due to rain in hilly states
Snowfall continues in the hilly states. Cold wave is also going on in Jammu and Kashmir. It is likely to continue like this till December 15. Apart from this, snowfall in Gulmarg and Sonmarg of Kashmir has created fun for the tourists. The weather is expected to remain the same today also. The minimum mercury will be at minus 6 in Sonmarg, Gulmarg, Kupwara, Srinagar. Apart from this, the mercury will remain below 6 in the remaining areas of Jammu and Kashmir.

Talking about Uttarakhand, there is a possibility of severe cold in Uttarakhand in the next two days. According to Dr. Bikram Singh, Director of Dehradun Meteorological Center, life can be affected due to frost in the plains and hilly areas at night. However, there may be a slight increase in temperature due to sunshine during the day. The minimum temperature in Dehradun on Thursday is expected to be 7 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature will be 24 degrees Celsius. The color of the weather has changed in Himachal Pradesh also. Here too the weather has become more pleasant after snowfall. Here too, people will feel cold due to snowfall in the hilly areas and falling temperature in other places.

Even in Uttar Pradesh, cold is forcing people to shiver. The weather has taken a turn in Uttar Pradesh. Along with rain, cold has also increased in the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a rain warning in Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Moradabad and many other districts on December 12. The temperature is continuously falling and it may reach 4 degrees Celsius in the coming days.

In Rajasthan too this year winter has started showing its effects early. In many cities the temperature has reached near zero degrees and in Mount Abu the temperature has fallen to 1.4 degrees Celsius. In view of the severe cold, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert for many districts of the state. In Bihar too, the Meteorological Department has issued a warning of dense fog in 15 districts of Bihar on Thursday. Along with this, yellow alert has also been issued in 12 districts regarding severe cold. There may be some sunshine during the day, but people will feel drowsy in the morning and evening.
