Today’s weather 8 September 2024: The rainy season is continuing in many states of the country. Be it the national capital Delhi or the areas of UP. The rainy season does not seem to stop in Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh as well. On the other hand, there are chances of rain in Odisha, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Konkan-Goa today. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert and a yellow alert for heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Telangana. Overall, today is the 8th of September but the monsoon is fully active. According to the Meteorological Department, there may be light rain in some places in Delhi today due to clouds. It will rain heavily in Delhi today too

The national capital woke up to a pleasant Saturday morning and it rained lightly in many areas. The weather department has forecast cloudy weather and rain today as well. The Indian Meteorological Department said that the maximum temperature in Delhi on Saturday was recorded at 34.4 degrees Celsius, which was normal. The weather department said that the maximum and minimum temperatures in the capital are likely to be around 34 and 25 degrees Celsius respectively on Sunday.

Heavy rain expected in Rajasthan

It is raining heavily in many districts of Rajasthan. There is an alert of torrential rain in many areas including the capital Jaipur even today. According to the Jaipur Meteorological Center, Lohariya in Banswara received the highest rainfall of 169 mm in the last 24 hours. The period of heavy rain is expected to continue in the state for a few more days. Monsoon is expected to remain active in most parts of eastern Rajasthan for the next 2-3 days. Rain activities are expected to continue in some parts of Kota, Ajmer, Jaipur divisions on 8-9 September as well and heavy rain is expected at some places.

Somewhere in Odisha, Orange and somewhere Yellow alert

Odisha has received heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours. The weather department has predicted heavy rainfall for the next four days. The low pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal will remain active. An orange alert has been issued for the state today. Heavy rainfall may occur at one or two places in Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri and Koraput districts. Apart from this, a yellow alert has been issued for heavy rain at one or two places in Kendrapada, Khurda, Puri, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Nayagarh, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nawarangpur districts. The department has predicted rain in most parts of the state on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Strong winds may also blow during this period.

Orange alert for heavy rain in Andhra Pradesh

The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy rains in nine districts of Andhra Pradesh. ‘Orange alert’ has been issued for those districts. The districts which have heavy rain warning today include Eluru, Alluri Sitaramaraju (ASR), Parvatipuram Manyam, Srikakulam, Vijayanagaram, West Godavari, East Godavari, NTR and Krishna district. The department has also predicted heavy rains at isolated places in Konaseema, Kakinada, Anakapalli, Yanam, Visakhapatnam, Srikakulam, Manyam today.

Situation worsened due to floods amid rain in Telangana

Normal life is affected due to rain and floods in Telangana. 29 people are reported dead in this. 29 out of 33 districts of the state have been declared flood affected. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has predicted that the rain will continue in the state. It may rain in many districts even today.

In Himachal too, there is havoc of flood along with rain

Due to continuous rain in Himachal Pradesh, traffic on 47 roads came to a standstill. The local meteorological department has warned of the danger of floods in Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts. There is a rain alert in the state even today. The IMD has predicted light to moderate rain in some parts of Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts till Sunday. Keylong in Lahaul and Spiti remained the coldest place. The minimum temperature was recorded at 9.5 degrees Celsius. Una remained the hottest place with a maximum temperature of 32.8 degrees Celsius.
