The IMD has issued a warning of heavy rains with thunder and lightning in Mumbai and suburbs till the morning of September 26. ‘Red alert’ for heavy rain in Mumbai

Heavy rains have been continuing in Mumbai and its suburbs since Wednesday afternoon, due to which low-lying areas have been submerged. Local trains remained halted between Kurla and Thane stations, due to which passengers were stranded. Traffic on the roads remained slow. Due to the heavy rains in Mumbai on Wednesday, two flights coming to the city had to change their route and had to land in other cities. The official said that apart from these, seven flights of various flight companies could not land and kept hovering in the air waiting for approval till 8:09 pm.

Chances of rain in Delhi-NCR

While there is an alert for heavy rain in Mumbai, the weather has changed in Delhi. There may be light rain at some places today. The weather will remain clear in most areas. There are chances of rain at one or two places in Delhi as well as NCR. According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature may go up a bit. People may seem a little troubled by the heat and humidity. After three months and 19 days, people felt a drop in air quality in the national capital on Wednesday. The AQI was recorded at 235, which falls under the ‘poor’ category.

Yellow alert for rain in 11 districts of Rajasthan

There is a rain alert in many districts of Rajasthan today. According to Radheshyam Sharma, Director of Meteorological Center Jaipur, there will be rain at many places across the state for the next three days. IMD has issued a rain alert in more than 22 districts in two days. There is a yellow alert for rain in 11 districts today. The districts where heavy rain is expected today include Chittorgarh, Dungarpur, Jhalawar, Kota, Banswara, Baran, Bhilwara, Bundi, Rajsamand, Sirohi and Udaipur.

It will rain at some places in Himachal

Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra, Una, Bhuntar and Sundernagar cities on Wednesday recorded the highest maximum temperature for the month of September this year since 1994. The maximum temperature in tourist destinations Shimla, Manali and Dharamsala also broke a 10-year record, with the state capital recording a maximum temperature of 28.4 degrees on September 24. However, the state is likely to witness heavy rains in the next three days starting today. Due to increased rains, the maximum temperature is likely to drop by up to three degrees in many parts of the state. The Meteorological Department has issued a ‘yellow’ alert for thunderstorms and lightning in six to eight districts of the state.
