Tibetan Youth Congress organizes bicycle rally against cultural genocide in Tibet by China


The Tibetan Youth Congress recently organized a bicycle rally to raise awareness about cultural genocide in Tibet and demand the Chinese government end it.

It is noteworthy that Tibetan Youth Congress had organized a cycle rally from Dehradun via Chandigarh. 50 cyclists reached Delhi on Monday after covering a distance of more than 400 kilometers.

Speaking to ANI, Tibetan Youth Congress President Gonpo Dhundup said, “The cycle rally organized by the Tibetan Youth Congress started this campaign from Dehradun on September 24 which continued till today (September 30). This is our seventh day. So far, we have covered more than 400 km across four Indian states and two union territories.

“We have 54 participants… The main demand of this campaign is to ask the Chinese government to stop cultural genocide in Tibet… We want to highlight the Tibetan issue through this cycle rally,” he/she said.

Dhundup said, “Second, we want to urge the international community to speak out in support of Tibet… The third objective of this campaign is to seek the support of the Government of India for the call of the Tibetan people for the independence of Tibet… We There has been tremendous support.” Local Indian community. Earlier on 27 September, the representative of the European Union, in a statement during the 57th general session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC), reiterated its concerns about the continued grave human rights situation in Tibet, highlighting compulsory boarding schooling, collectivization . DNA sampling and closure of Tibetan schools, the Central Tibetan Administration reported.

During the statement, the EU representative also noted that the human rights situation is worsening as China imposes compulsory boarding schooling and DNA sampling, as reported by civil society organizations.

The EU envoy also said it would monitor the protection of Tibetans’ fundamental freedoms, cultural heritage and identity and called on China to ensure education in the Tibetan language at all levels. The Sangh has considered the closure of Tibetan schools as a worrying situation.
