Threats received on Indian Airlines flights this year set a record, NIA is also investigating

New Delhi: More than 400 threats have been received so far this year in the case of threats to target and bomb flights of various Indian airlines. Which has become an all time record. It is fortunate that all were Hawks. Security agencies say that never before have so many threatening calls and messages been received in a year. As many as have been received till October 17 this year. Whereas there are still about two and a half months left for the year to end.Threats are being received from many platforms
In the digital age, most threats are being received through e-mail, Twitter or other social media platforms. Understanding the seriousness of the matter, National Investigation Agency NIA has also started investigating it. So that in a way, this matter of spreading ‘flight terror’ can be investigated to the bottom whether any terrorist organization or other foreign forces are involved in it. However, NIA says that no FIR has been registered in this matter yet, but the agency is also investigating it at its own level.

Who is behind the threat?

Security agencies have not yet revealed whether any terrorist organization operating from abroad or others is involved in the threats to bomb flights through social media. But in this case, the way Indian Airlines is being targeted and threats are being issued every day, the agencies are not even denying this. The agencies say that at present we cannot hold any organization operating from Pakistan or any other country responsible in this regard. Investigation is being done keeping every angle in mind. After this a firm conclusion can be reached.

More such cases occurred this year
In this matter, security agency sources said that many flights had received bomb threats last year too, but the number of threats was much less than the threats received so far this year. By October 17 this year, this figure has crossed 400. In this also, till now the maximum number of 100 threats had been received in June, whereas till now the month of October is at second place. In which around 94 threats have been received so far. Whereas there are still 14 days left for the month to end.

Considering the seriousness of the matter, Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu had also called a high level meeting on Tuesday. Ministry secretary Wumlunmang Wualnam also appeared before the parliamentary standing committee. Also, the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) is continuously holding meetings regarding this matter to find a solution.
