The Civil Aviation Ministry is planning to impose strict rules to prevent incidents of bomb threats on planes and include the culprits in the ‘no fly’ list. DGCA is considering amending the rules to ensure strict action against incidents involving bomb threats to airlines. On the other hand, most of the people traveling by air say that the government should take strict action in this matter and make provision to punish the culprits as soon as possible. At the same time, Indian airlines companies are also losing crores of rupees due to these incidents.
Bomb threat through social media post
Vistara said on Saturday that bomb threats were received through social media posts on five of its international flights, including UK106 (Singapore to Mumbai), UK027 (Mumbai to Frankfurt), UK107 (Mumbai to Singapore), UK121 (Delhi to Bangkok). and UK131 (Mumbai to Colombo). “Following protocols, all relevant authorities were immediately alerted,” a company spokesperson said in a statement. All security procedures are being followed as per the guidelines received from authorities and security agencies.
Note found in flight toilet
Additionally, there were security concerns over Vistara flight UK 624 from Udaipur to Mumbai and the aircraft was taken to an ‘isolation bay’ for mandatory testing after it landed safely. A source related to the case said that a note was found in the toilet of the plane, in which it was written that it contained a bomb. At the same time, IndiGo said that at least four of its flights received security alerts, which include 6E17 (Mumbai to Istanbul), 6E11 (Delhi to Istanbul), 6E184 (Jodhpur to Delhi) and 6E108 (Hyderabad to Chandigarh).
