Those who call themselves Hindus, indulge in violence day and night… Huge uproar in Lok Sabha over Rahul Gandhi’s statement

New Delhi: Former Congress President and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi has given a very controversial statement. A statement that is going to hurt the sentiments of crores of Hindus. he/she said that those who call themselves Hindus, indulge in violence day and night. Rahul’s statement caused a huge uproar in the Lok Sabha. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself stood up and objected to Rahul’s views. However, in response, Rahul Gandhi said that he/she has called PM Modi, BJP and RSS hateful and violent, not the entire Hindu society. Prime Minister Modi, while objecting to Rahul’s statement, had only said, ‘This topic is very serious. Calling the entire Hindu society violent is a serious matter.’ At this Rahul Gandhi started saying, ‘Narendra Modi is not the entire Hindu society. RSS is not the entire Hindu society.’

Opposition leader Rahul Gandhi raised questions on the ban on showing the picture of Lord Shiva in the Lok Sabha. he/she repeatedly asked Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla whether showing the picture of Lord Shiva is prohibited in this House? Can’t the picture of Lord Shiva be shown in this House? Rahul participated in the discussion on the motion of thanks on the address of President Draupadi Murmu and started his/her speech by showing the picture of Lord Shiva. On this, Speaker Om Birla referred him/her to the rules of the House.

Rahul Gandhi told the Lok Sabha Speaker, ‘You have been sitting here for 55 hours, you are like a stone, why don’t you move? Today in my speech I want to tell BJP and RSS that it is about our idea which the entire opposition is using. Where does this idea come from, how does it give us strength? It gives us the strength to move forward without fear.’

After saying this, he/she raised the picture of Lord Shiva in his/her hands and when the Lok Sabha Speaker interrupted him/her, he/she said, ‘Is it forbidden to show the picture of Lord Shiva here? This picture is in the heart of entire India. Everyone knows this image.’ Rahul further said, ‘When Lord Shiva wraps a snake around his/her neck, he/she says that he/she accepts reality. he/she has a trident on his/her left hand side. Trident is not a symbol of violence, rather it is a symbol of non-violence. If it was a symbol of violence, it would have been in the right hand.’
