Russia-India: The history of friendship between India and Russia is very old. The two friends are traditionally friends. Even before Mikhail Gorbachev and then after Boris Yeltsin, Vladimir Putin for the last nearly two decades is witness to the fact that India and Russia have traditionally been partners in happiness and sorrow. When the war started with Ukraine, the whole world put pressure on India to make a statement against Russia, but India gave first importance to its friendship and did not bow down to the pressure. Although India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi definitely told Putin that war is not appropriate. America put full pressure on India, but India stood true to Russia’s test.

For the sake of friendship, Russia is giving crude oil to India at cheap rates.
For the sake of friendship, Russia is continuously selling crude oil to India at a cheaper rate. Now Russian foreign policy documents from Putin say that he/she will continue to build a privileged strategic partnership with India. Apart from this, it has been said that Russia will increase cooperation with India in mutually beneficial areas.
Russian foreign policy documents advocate friendship
The document was released at a time when Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Russia a few days back. It was believed that this visit in the middle of the war would increase Russia’s inclination towards China. The document also states that Russia will further enhance bilateral trade, investment and technical ties to respond to forces threatening the friendship between Russia and India. This document has been approved when there is tension between Russia and America due to Ukraine war.
India hosting G20
Putin did not attend the G20 conference held in Indonesia. Russia’s Sherpa at the G20 Svetlana Lukash said on Friday that President Putin is expected to attend the SCO and G20 summits in India. Russia is hoping to strengthen its relations with India through these. India will host the G20 Leaders’ Summit in September this year.
Putin can join G20
Due to the war, America has imposed many sanctions on Russia. At the same time, it is helping Ukraine militarily, economically and diplomatically. The document states that Russia will show strong participation in international organizations such as BRICS, SCO, CIS, EAEU, CSTO, RIC to create a multipolar world. Apart from the document, officials say that Putin can participate in the SCO and G20 summits to be held in India.
