Those 10 seats and candidates of the Lok Sabha elections, whose victory or defeat hardly anyone would expect

New Delhi: The results of the Lok Sabha elections-2024 surprised everyone. While the BJP got a huge setback in the results, the INDI alliance including Congress is breathing a sigh of relief. Even though the BJP has not got a majority on its own, the NDA has crossed the magic figure of majority and can also claim to form the government soon. On the other hand, the INDI alliance does not seem to have the key to power at the moment. However, this time the opposition will definitely be seen in a strong position in Parliament. Talking about the Lok Sabha elections, the results on some seats were such, which neither the ruling party nor the opposition had expected. We are telling about some such candidates and seats, whose results surprised everyone.

1. BJP’s defeat in Ayodhya
Just four months ago, on January 22, the grand Ram temple was inaugurated in Ayodhya. There was a Ram wave in the whole country. It was believed that the Ram temple issue would benefit the BJP a lot. But the result of the Lok Sabha elections turned this story upside down. The BJP had to face defeat in the Faizabad Lok Sabha seat. Here the Samajwadi Party candidate won the election. Not only this, the BJP had to face defeat in the other four seats of Ayodhya Mandal as well.

2. Smriti Irani’s crushing defeat in Amethi
Congress has made a comeback in Amethi, which has been considered the traditional seat of the Gandhi family for decades. Even though no member of the Gandhi family became an MP from here, Kishori Lal Sharma, considered close to the Gandhi family, defeated BJP candidate and Union Minister Smriti Irani by more than 1.7 lakh votes. In 2019, Smriti Irani defeated Rahul Gandhi in Amethi.

3. After Manipur violence, BJP suffered loss, Congress got victory
Ever since the Manipur violence, BJP has been facing opposition there. BJP had to bear the brunt of this in the Lok Sabha elections as well. Congress has won both the seats in the troubled Manipur. Both the communities, Kuki living in the hilly areas of Manipur and Meitei living in the Imphal valley, voted for the Congress.

4. BJP opens account in Kerala
Even though BJP has suffered losses in the Hindi belt states, BJP has surprised everyone in some states of South India. BJP has opened its account in Kerala for the first time. Actor-turned-politician Suresh Gopi won the election from Kerala’s Thrissur Lok Sabha seat and added a seat to BJP’s kitty.

5. The issue of Sandeshkhali did not translate into votes
Before the Lok Sabha elections, BJP raised the Sandeshkhali controversy of West Bengal. From PM Modi to many other leaders tried to corner the Mamata government of Bengal on this issue. But the Sandeshkhali controversy did not seem to have any effect on the Basirhat election results. On this seat, Trinamool Congress’s Noorul Islam defeated BJP’s Rekha Patra by more than 3.4 lakh votes. Rekha Patra was the main face of the protests in the Sandeshkhali case.

6. Chandrashekhar Azad won the Nagina seat in UP on his/her own
The results of UP’s Nagina Lok Sabha seat also surprised everyone. Azad Samaj Party chief and Dalit leader Chandrashekhar Azad has won from here by 1.5 lakh votes. The special thing is that Chandrashekhar contested the election from Nagina without anyone’s support. he/she got neither the support of BSP nor Samajwadi Party.

7. Khalistani supporters won in Punjab
The results of the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab also surprised everyone. Jailed pro-Khalistan preacher Amritpal Singh and Sarabjit Singh Khalsa, son of Beant Singh (the assassin of Indira Gandhi), have won the elections in Punjab.

8. Radical jailed under UAPA won
While pro-Khalistan supporters won the Lok Sabha elections in Punjab, a jailed hardliner also won the elections in Jammu and Kashmir. In Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, Engineer Rashid, jailed under UAPA, defeated Omar Abdullah.

9. Congress stopped BJP from clean sweep in Gujarat
Congress stopped BJP from making a clean sweep in Gujarat, which is considered to be BJP’s stronghold. Congress has won Gujarat’s Banaskantha seat, thus ending BJP’s hopes of winning all the seats for three consecutive times.

10. 5 members of Yadav family won in UP
Samajwadi Party has performed brilliantly in UP. But it is worth noting that 5 members of Yadav family have won the Lok Sabha elections. Akhilesh Yadav has won from Kannauj, Dimple Yadav from Mainpuri, Aditya Yadav from Badaun, Akshay Yadav from Farrukhabad and Dharmendra Yadav from Azamgarh.
