This small village of India is situated on the LOC, from where even a voice raised can be heard by Pakistan

It is said that King Karna had settled Keran village in the 10th century. King Karna ruled the Gomal area in Karnah. Once due to some reason he/she lost his/her eyesight. Then someone told him/her that he/she would regain his/her eyesight if he/she took a bath in the river formed by the confluence of two rivers.

When King Karna took a bath near the Sharda river in Keran village, his/her eyes were cured. he/she first saw this valley with his/her own eyes and decided to settle here. At that time, he/she established a town here and named it Karna. This town was later named Keran.

Farkiya Street

Keran village is 100 km away from Srinagar, the capital of Jammu and Kashmir. You will not get any direct bus from Srinagar to Keran. To reach here, you can book a cab or a sharing taxi. If you want to go by bus, then first you have to catch a bus from Srinagar to Karalpera. Taxis are easily available from here to Keran. The nearest airport to Keran village is Srinagar Airport.
