​​It is prepared from the fibers of lotus flower

​Lotus flower fibers are used to make this lotus fabric saree. Fabric is made by collecting fibers from about 1 lakh lotus flowers and then a lotus silk saree is made from it. However, this saree is made of only 50 percent lotus fabric because other silks are also mixed in it.

How is Lotus Silk made?

To make the fabric, first the stem of the lotus flower is broken from the middle and then it is pulled slowly. Due to which its fibers become visible and then once it is twisted, one end is pressed with the finger and pulled from the other side. Due to which the fibers become quite big. Which are rolled together with the help of hands and given the form of thread.

After the plain saree is ready, painting or design is made

It takes a lot of time to make this saree, that is why its price is also high. First, collecting lotus flowers and extracting their fibers and then making fabric from it takes a lot of time. In such a situation, first two to three artisans do this work.

Along with this, by mixing other silks in the fabric, a plain saree is prepared first and then paintings or designs are made on it. In such a situation, it takes 1 year to prepare one saree.
