New Delhi : The central government has issued a warning regarding a fake letter being sent in the name of the Indian Intelligence Bureau. It said that the letter being sent to people through email is fake. This letter is being sent by cyber criminals to deceive people. This ‘porn letter’ was not sent by the Indian Intelligence Bureau. According to the information, this letter in the name of the Indian Intelligence Bureau tells about the court order against internet IP traffic. It has been alleged that the internet is being used to watch pornographic material.

This viral letter is fake, government issued alert

PIB Fact Check has posted this fake letter on X, which was earlier Twitter. The official handle of PIB Fact Check has denied this viral letter. It says that ‘An email has been received regarding a court order against your internet IP traffic. Be careful’. On this, PIBFactCheck told through Xpost that this email is fake. If you want to register complaints related to cyber crime, then do it on cybercrime.gov.in.

Know what is written in the fake letter

Prashant Gautam – the prosecutor, claiming to be from the Indian Intelligence Bureau, wrote in the letter, “This is to inform you about the attached court order against your internet IP traffic on behalf of the Indian Intelligence Bureau, Department of Research and Analysis. It is very unfortunate that you have turned your official or private internet into a platform for viewing pornographic things.”

The viral letter shocked people

The fake letter states, ‘Our laboratories are equipped with state-of-the-art spider/crawling digital software and equipment. These have capabilities such as extracting deleted data from hard disks and mobile phones, imaging and hash value calculation, forensic servers and portable forensic tools for on-site investigation. There is also a facility to extract data from modern Android or iOS as well as Chinese phones.’ The letter also threatens that if a reply is not given within 24 hours of receiving the notice, legal action will be taken.

Recently, Cyber ​​Dost, a cyber safety and cyber security awareness handle operated by the Home Ministry, warned about a fake letter on social media claiming to be from Rajesh Kumar, CEO of the Indian Cyber ​​Crime Coordination Center (I4C). Whoever has received this fake letter, accuses him/her of being involved in child pornography and pedophilia. Seeing the controversy growing on this, the government has issued a warning about this fake letter.
