Then Shiva and Mother Parvati advise to feed him/her Tulsi leaves and Ganesha’s hunger is satiated.

It is believed that planting a Tulsi plant in the house maintains peace and happiness because many deities reside in Tulsi. Because if the plant is not grown properly, it starts drying and there is no good growth. Due to which it needs to be planted a new plant again and again.

There is a risk of fungus in the roots due to excessive watering of the basil plant. Therefore, it is not right to grow the plant only in soil. In such a situation, you should take well drained soil. Which should contain 50% garden soil, 20% sand, 10% vermicompost and 10 percent any kind of organic fertilizer. This will not allow water to stagnate in the roots of basil for long. And then the plant will remain green for a long time.

Take care of nutrients

Due to lack of nutrients, the plant does not grow properly, so it is important to take care of the pH level of the soil and keep adding nutrients to the soil. For this, you can add manure, peat or bark chips. As a natural fertilizer, you can prepare cow dung cakes in powder form by drying them. Which you have to mix in the soil of the basil plant.

Keep these things in mind in the pot

To plant Tulsi, you can take a medium or large sized pot. The pot should be a little deep and wide, after this make two big holes at the bottom. It is necessary to make holes in the pot so that there is proper drainage. You can put a paper in the pot and put compost soil in it.

Grow a plant from seed or cuttings

After preparing the soil for the growth of the basil plant, it is very important to plant the seeds in the pot in the right manner. Therefore, before planting the seeds, scrape the soil well. After this, press it well in the soil at a depth of 4 to 5 inches. Apart from this, basil cuttings can also be planted in the soil. After planting the seeds or cuttings, water them well.

Add water as per requirement

Tulsi plant needs very little water, so pour only that much water in the plant as required by the soil. Such as the soil should neither be too dry nor too wet. Apart from this, the plant needs to be watered every day in summer and every other day in winter. A light stream of water should be poured on the Tulsi plant with the help of a shower.
