ICMR had said a few days ago that one can drink water, coconut water, fresh fruit juice in summer. But it also advised to eat whole fruits instead of juice. ICMR had asked not to drink bottled or packaged juice. Now FSSAI has also taken strict action on bottled and packaged juice.

FSSAI told food business operators that they cannot write 100% fruit juice on their juice containers or labels. Such claims are baseless and false. Bottled and packaged juices contain high amounts of water, while the concentration of fruits is very limited.
