This is sheer injustice…Jadeja’s reaction on Gautam Gambhir’s coaching

New Delhi. Former middle order batsman of the Indian team, Ajay Jadeja has come to the defense of Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir. Jadeja says that this is the time for us to enjoy Gambhir’s coaching. Under the guidance of head coach Gautam Gambhir, the Indian team faced a clean sweep defeat in the 3-match home Test series against New Zealand. Gambhir, a member of India’s 2011 World Cup-winning team, took charge of the Indian team after Rahul Dravid’s tenure ended in July. he/she started his/her tenure brilliantly with victory in the T20 series against Sri Lanka. But after this the team had to face defeat in the ODI series on that tour. After this, the Indian team defeated Bangladesh 2-0 in the Test series on home soil but after that it had to face a shameful defeat against New Zealand.

Ajay Jadeja told PTI-Video on the sidelines of the FICCI Turf event, ‘I feel that you are behaving inappropriately with him/her. This is a very short time to assess one’s performance. We should enjoy them instead of evaluating them at this time.’ After a poor performance against New Zealand, India’s big 295-run win against Australia in the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth has been a morale boost for the team. And Jadeja believes that Gambhir should not be judged within six months of his/her appointment.

‘I will not evaluate Gambhir’s coaching in 6 months’
Jadeja, who has scored more than 5000 runs in 196 ODIs for India, said, ‘Some phases (ups and downs of time) come with everyone. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. So I will not go in that direction and start evaluating him/her (Gambhir) in six months. You knew what you expected from them and what you were getting. he/she is a very clear person and has kept his/her views very clear throughout his/her life. So, what you see now is what everyone expects him/her to do.

‘Rohit’s return will boost the team’s confidence’
Jadeja said that the return of regular Test captain Rohit Sharma for the second Test to be held in Adelaide from December 6 will boost India’s confidence. he/she said, ‘his/her (Rohit Sharma) coming back into the team will definitely boost India’s confidence. he/she is a leader. When the team was in trouble, he/she took responsibility for the poor performance and now even when the team was winning, he/she played his/her role well. The second Test match of the series between India and Australia will be played in Adelaide from 6 December.
