The countdown for the World War of Cricket i.e. ODI World Cup, starting from October 5, continues in India. India is hosting this tournament alone for the first time. Team India will start its campaign in the ODI World Cup from October 8. India’s first match is to be with Australia. There has also been a major change in India’s squad at the last juncture for this tournament. Ravichandran Ashwin has been included in the team’s 15-member squad in place of injured Axar Patel. Now before the start of the tournament, the veteran Indian player has probably called this his last World Cup.

Actually, we are talking about Ravichandran Ashwin, who joined the squad at the last moment. He admitted on Saturday that the upcoming World Cup could also be his last World Cup. Let us tell you that Ashwin and Washington Sundar were included in the Indian team in place of Akshar Patel on trial basis. Ashwin also bowled brilliantly in that series and showed excellent economy by taking four wickets in two matches. After this, Ashwin was added to the World Cup team in place of Akshar. Now before the warm-up match against defending champion England on Saturday, 37-year-old Ashwin has given a big statement.

‘This could be my last World Cup…’

While talking to ‘Star Sports’ before the match against England, Ashwin said, I am in good rhythm and want to enjoy this tournament. This could be my last World Cup for India so the most important thing for me is to enjoy the entire tournament. On his sudden selection in the team, he said that life is full of many ups and downs. To be honest, I did not think that I would be present with the team in the World Cup. Circumstances ensured that I am here today, the team management and captain Rohit Sharma showed faith in me. I thank you for that.
