What is the whole matter?

The case started on December 22 last year. Two people, Bhupinder Kumar Sharma (Chairman of Dev Bhoomi Group of Institutions) and Rajneesh Bansal (Chairman of Himalayan Group of Professional Institutions) accused Deep and other ED officers of demanding bribes. Both of them said that they were asked for money to avoid arrest. Deep has said in his/her bail plea that he/she was investigating the Himachal Pradesh scholarship scam. During this time a CBI DSP and a complainant tried to bribe him/her. Deep alleges that the CBI DSP also threatened him/her. It was said that if the bribe was not taken, he/she would be implicated in a false case and transferred somewhere far away. When he/she refused to take bribe, an investigation was instituted.
Deep says he/she refused to take bribe. Instead they started investigation against the CBI DSP and the complainant under Section 66 of the PML Act. Deep alleges that the FIRs lodged against him/her were done by the accused in the scholarship scam. he/she has also termed the initial investigation of CBI as wrong. Deep has also accused CBI of illegally searching his/her house and office.

he/she says that on December 23, 2024, CBI officers entered his/her house without a warrant and a woman constable. At that time his/her wife, children and elderly parents were present in his/her house. According to Deep, the CBI seized the evidence that they had collected against the CBI officers and the complainants.

Although government records show the search to be on December 24, Deep claims that the search was conducted a day earlier to destroy crucial evidence. Deep has said in his/her application that nothing was recovered from his/her house or during his/her arrest. he/she also said that the bribe in question has been recovered from some other place. There is no evidence linking him/her to the allegations, such as phone recordings.
