Both of them made a partnership of 47 runs for the last wicket in the first innings of the Gabba Test match against Australia. Bumrah and Akashdeep saved India from follow on. Both the players hit a six each in the over of a dreaded bowler like Pat Cummins. This six got recorded in the pages of history. India scored 260 runs in the first innings. Australia had scored 445 runs in the first innings. Team India remained 185 runs behind the hosts in the first innings. Bumrah and Akashdeep also performed brilliantly in bowling before batting. In the first innings, Bumrah took 6 wickets for 76 runs while bowling 28 overs while keeping 9 overs maiden while Akashdeep took one wicket.

The ongoing third test match between India and Australia is heading towards a draw. The game is being affected due to rain on the fifth and last day of the test. After India’s first innings ended in the first session, Australia’s second innings could not start due to rain. Rain had already been predicted for the fifth day of play. Earlier, the first, third and fourth days of the Test were also affected by rain.
