This genetic disorder occurs due to excess of one chromosome, these symptoms are seen in Down syndrome.


Down syndrome is a genetic disorder in which a person is born with an extra copy of chromosome 21. This means such a person is born not with 46 chromosomes but with 47.

This can hinder the development of their body and mind and affect overall development. If you support such children then they can live a completely normal life. This condition can affect anyone, male or female.

In this, anything done by the parents during pregnancy cannot be considered a reason. It is not inherited in an autosomal dominant pattern in people.
